First off, I LOVE my Ulta. There's just something about great customer service that can make me go in to shop when I don't even need anything! The employees are so welcoming and willing to go out of their way to help. I also love the new Ulta Rewards because you can use your points towards anything. I know a lot of people have complained about the switch for whatever reason but now you aren't limited to a predetermined list of products and it is easy to take advantage of bonus times to collect extra points without the extra spending (cha-ching!)
I have been using Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing (in color 02) since September to help under my eyes and recently felt like it just wasn't doing it for me anymore. I had purchased an extra one in Dec. when Ulta had 20% off everything and decided I wanted to return the extra for something else. Come to find out, the shade I had been using was too dark (thanks winter) and I ended up switching it for 01 instead. It's perfect! It is thick enough to stay in place yet pliable enough that it still looks natural and lasts all day.
I have also been using Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation since September and did not like how powdery it was as soon as I put it on my face. I received a sample of Benefit's Big Easy in my February Birchbox and wanted to give it a shot. I went up a shade in the foundation for summer and LOVE how it applies compared to the Tarte! (My next switch will probably be from foundation brush to beautyblender...)
If you're used to cheaper foundations, do not let the price alarm you. My Tarte is from September and it's a looong way from being empty. Both of these foundations are $38 and if you're lucky (and have a subscription) you can take advantage of Birchbox's coupon codes for a % off (which you can seldom do at Ulta!). I tend to bounce between Ulta and Birchbox depending on the sales/rewards at the time.
I also needed some files for my "on-the-go" bag and snagged these super cute files for $1 !
